Team

10 years of specialization within healthcare market research  and strategic business consulting have shaped an experienced and excellent team, ready for any challenge. Our strength is the interdisciplinary and international nature of our team, with background in economics, sociology, psychology, journalism, genetics, statistics, medicine and international affairs.

Integrated project teams prepare all project steps - from the creation of the questionnaire, translations and programming of data input interfaces, up to the analysis and consulting. We have a team of 9 employees and around 70 well-trained, multilingual interviewers and moderators who work in their mother tongues, the main languages of Europe, as well as Russian, Greek, Portuguese, Arabic and many others.

We believe that our team members can only fulfill their tasks if they are properly trained. Therefore, we invest in continuous education and training and provide a motivating and inspiring work environment.

Kathrin Franke

Ms Franke has 13 years of experience in the healthcare market, designing and planning strategic market research for the IVD industry, both quantitative and qualitative. Based in Germany she directs the activities of data information intelligence GmbH (dii) and has been involved in more than 200 business intelligence and marketing consulting projects supporting strategic decisions of manufacturers of diagnostic products including molecular, POC, cardiac, infectious diseases. Ms Franke has initiated the Periodic Molecular Market Assessment, a quantitative assessment of status quo for 38 molecular assays in 8 EU countries. This project has been conceptualized in co-operation with leading industry, among them RMD. Ms Franke holds an MBA in Business Economics and is co-founder of dii GmbH. 

Dr. Mark Whitten

Senior Consultant

Dr. Whitten has been working and studying in the fields of life sciences (specifically genetics and anthropology) for over 15 years. During the past four years he has worked as a consultant for dii Healthcare in designing and interpreting numerous business intelligence projects in the areas of IVD and medical devices. He holds a BSc with a double major in Genetics/Biotechnology and Anthropology/Latin American Studies, an MSc in Biology, and spent over 5 years researching next generation sequencing methods for human populations at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology resulting in a PhD from the University of Leipzig in 2016. Along with his studies, he has performed genetics research at the University of Cambridge, the Royal Veterinary College and the London Museum of Natural History leading to 10 peer-reviewed publications and being invited to speak at numerous universities, government agencies, and the AACC. In addition to his scientific credentials, Dr. Whitten spent 5 years in the banking industry in the USA where he worked in the field of healthcare lending.

Anja joined dii in 2015 heading data quality control, crucial for the reliability of the analysis. Data quality is affected by the way data is entered, stored and managed. Anja oversees the training process, co-reads interviews to ensure adherence with project objectives and definitions.

Over the past 10 years, Mr. Blass has been working in the life sciences, focusing on proteomics and genetics. During the past two years he has worked as an analyst for dii and was involved in numerous IVD business intelligence projects with a strong focus on molecular diagnostics and infectious diseases.  He holds a Diploma in Biochemistry from University Leipzig and is currently completing his PhD at the Max Planck Institute in Leipzig.

Florian joined dii in 2018 to bring his knowledge into business practice.

At dii since 2013 starting as a moderator for the qualitative and quantitative projects in French speaking regions. In this role Jennifer has accumulated in-depth knowledge of medical and scientific topics and has developed exceptional communication skills. As such she supports the French speaking teams to clarify project objectives and to coordinate the overall project execution. In addition she is responsible for the overall structure of our internally developed call management system with > 60,000 demographic profiles of healthcare providers worldwide.

Aoife joined dii in 2017 and supports the English speaking team members during the project provides to provide scientific explanations and clear directions regarding the research goals and project workflow, e.g. handling of technology and organizational aspects. Aoife coordinates and communicates between project management, quality control teams and interviewers. She understands the scientific rationale and technical issues associated with the project target and the clinical and market drivers. Aoife also supports marketing activities, e.g. the creation of blogs, newsletters and articles in consultation with project teams and management. In addition Aoife moderates English-speaking interviews with high level healthcare executives.
